Lucent Technologies

Wall Street advertising. With the split of the manufacturing arm of AT&T and Bell Labs from AT&T, Lucent  wanted to assure its suppliers and long-term contracted clients that they were a strong company without AT&T.

Half of the people on earth have never made a phone call.
Are we golden or what?

Lucent Technologies is a new 22 billion dollar company formed by the recent break-up of AT&T. Lucent develops, builds and services telecommunications networks and products. It sells equipment to long distance and regional phone and cable companies around the world. It sells private networks, and products that support them to large and small businesses. It sells components like microprocessors to other telephone equipment companies. It sells telephones, answering machines and other equipment to consumers and businesses. Bell Labs is the research and development arm of Lucent. It has created, discovered and developed more scientific patents than any lab on earth. So even though Lucent is a company you've probably never heard of, it is poised to take advantage of the tremendous growth and development that will take place in the world of telecommunications. It has the resources, manpower, technology, products, services and good fortune to be at the right place, at the right time, and doing all the right things. When half the world is waiting for a dial tone to be connected.

E-Mail will replace 50% of all corporate 1st Class Mail during the next decade.
Talk about being at the right place at the right time.
In the year 2000, Asia and Europe will spend $48 billion dollars on PCs.
Our ship has come in.
